NEW YORK — Vancouver Canucks defenceman Erik Gudbranson will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday after a boarding major against the Boston Bruins. The department tweeted about the hearing early Friday morning.

DENVER — Robert Bortuzzo took full responsibility for plowing into his own goaltender to set up an easy and momentum-swinging goal for Colorado. The St. Louis defenceman made up for it minutes later with the sealing goal.

Boston goalie Tuukka Rask is sidelined because of a concussion, forcing the Bruins to call up goalie Zane McIntyre from Providence of the American Hockey League.

Philadelphia Flyers founder Ed Snider was honoured with a 9-foot bronze statue outside the Wells Fargo Center. Snider founded the team in the 1960s and remained chairman until his death in April 2016.
