BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres have hired former NHL defenceman Mike Komisarek as a player development coach. Komisarek becomes the latest addition to first-time head coach Phil Housley's staff.

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Wild have agreed to terms with right wing Nino Niederreiter on a five-year, $26.25 million contract.

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins have agreed to terms with forward Conor Sheary on a $9 million, three-year deal. Sheary will count $3 million against the salary cap through 2019-20.

DALLAS — The Dallas Stars will host the 2018 NHL draft at American Airlines Center. The NHL and the Stars announced Saturday night that the draft will be Friday-Saturday, June 22-23. The first round will be June 22 and the final six rounds June 23.

MONTREAL — Maurice Filion, the former coach and general manager of the Quebec Nordiques in the World Hockey Association and the National Hockey League, has died. Filion, who was 85, died on Friday but the cause of death was not made public.

NASHVILLE — General manager David Poile has made it clear he's been looking for a top centre since first hired to build the Nashville Predators 20 years ago.
