It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward John Chikoski at the age of 84.

Our dad was a loving husband to our beautiful mother Jo-Anne for 61 years and boy he missed her dearly since her passing in 2021. Our dad was a special father to us girls and loved us unconditionally.  Truly missed by Kim, Shelley ( Eddie Cro partners in crime) Christine and Kathy (Lee, the great conversationalist) He loved and adored his grandchildren Andrew, Brenda, Krystal (Tyler), Aaron (Cassie) Micheal,  Christopher and Danielle. Our dad was also blessed with 6 great grandchildren. Joshua, Dennis, Edward, William, Charles and his girl Sierra who learned to sing You Are My Sunshine while her papa played the harmonica.

His special lap buddy Noah (babe) was his best friend and companion. They are reunited again. Noah was dad's world.

Krystal took great pleasure and loved that her papa would study the bird population in his back yard. One duck led to 50 ducks eventually buying an huge bag of feed. Our dad loved great jokes, especially when in the company of his late nephew Bill Slewidge who with his spectacular sense of humour  kept him laughing. Our dad loved filling his back yard with flowers, then sitting on his deck enjoying the view with a glass of Merlot. Cooking was a passion of his especially mastering the Ukrainian cuisine. Puttering with old motors ,  tinkering with any kind of machinery he collected cluttering up the garage but he surely new where everything was stored earning the rights to the nickname Sanford.

Our dad retired his job as Crane Repairman at Algoma Steel with 40 years service. His journey in life proved him to be strong willed, Loyal as a lion and although stubborn at times you could not find someone with a genuine heart and a wonderful sense of humour. Dad was very clever and filled with knowledge always having National Geographic books by his side.

Our dad came from a large Ukrainian family and cherished the closeness he had with his siblings. Deceased brothers and sisters are Stanley (Mary) Millie (Walter Slewidge) Stella (Roy Gibbs), Annie (Joe), Joseph (Antonette) Sylvia (John Piazza). He will be remembered by his brother Walter (late Wanda) and his sister Sophie (late John Maich).

Our dad loved, cherished and enjoyed all the great moments he spent with our mom's siblings and spouses who are all deceased except his brother in law and good friend Ralph Rogers. To all nieces and nephews thank you for always loving our dad .

Our dad will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family, fellow Bayview neighbors especially Keith Luck and Rene Bedard and special friends Cathy and Chris Elliot enjoying 20 years of camping together at Point Des Chenes Campground and remaining friends. He loved you both.

In our dads fashion a family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate not only his life but the life of our mother who passed away through the Covid pandemic. Memorial donation payable by cheque or online to ARCH would be appreciated.  (Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East, 705-759-2522).
