Dad, you’ll be in my heart forever
Icy blue eyes, with a heart of gold
A contagious laugh, and a beautiful soul
The life of the party, on good days and bad
Never forgetting where you came from
Or all that you had
You gave the best hugs, and the best quality time
I think that’s what I’ll miss most, as the days go by
Always willing to help, even when you needed it too
Never one to complain, I learned a lot from you
Like how to change my tires, or build a fence from
scratch
I’ll remember these things always
No matter how far in the past
I still have your example, of what love should be
And even though I can’t see you,
I know you can see me.
