It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our brother Kenny on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the age of 60.
After a short but valiant fight with cancer his heart simply became too tired. He is now reunited with his parents Lorain (2007) and Ron (2016) as well as his fur-ever best friend Zoe.
Kenny was deeply loved and will be remembered always by his sisters Lori Lehtinen (Ron), Clare Borghese (Dan), and Laureena Clement (Chris).
Kenny was so proud to be uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He cherished attending their many sports and special events and looked forward to spending time with them at family gatherings. Ken enjoyed spoiling the great nieces and nephews every chance he got.
He will also be remembered by his sister Leslie Rathbone (Mat), aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Kenny was always grateful for the kindness and acceptance shown to him by his deaf community family.
Kenny loved his outdoor walks and kayak rides on Lake Superior, along with his favourite sports including pool and darts, and was an avid car enthusiast.
We would like to give thanks to Dr. Opryszczko, Dr. Gupta, Dr. Voutsadakis, Dr. Booth and all of their amazing teams and also to the SAH Cancer Care Clinic for all their care and kindness. A big thank you to Rosette for going above and beyond in setting up the talk to text program to assist Kenny in his communications.
Special thank you to Bayshore nurses, especially Kenny’s primary home care nurse Lisa, as well as Cardiac Care nurse Jennifer, and Collaborative Care nurse Tracy for all their care and guidance.
At Kenny’s request, no services will be held, and cremation has taken place. Memorial Donations to Tracy’s Dream, the Humane Society, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
