FAZI, Joan F.

At the age of 85, Joan of Marquette, and former Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, entered eternal life Monday, December 31, 2018, at UP Health System in Marquette. Born September 26, 1933, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, a daughter of Douglas and Floris (Towell) Arbour, Joan was raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and attended the local schools. On January 14, 1961, Joan was united in marriage to Frank V. Fazi in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and together the couple established a home in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, where they raised their daughter, Mary Anne. Joan was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker and, in later years, her grandchildren meant everything to her. Joan was a member of the Central United Methodist Church where she was very active in various groups and circles within the church, and especially enjoyed being a part of the crafting group. In her leisure, she loved playing golf, watching Fox News, and belonging to her card club.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Mary Anne (Jason) Welch of Marquette; her grandchildren, Lyndsey Welch, Molly Welch, and Tucker Welch of Marquette; and a brother, Brian (Ann) Arbour of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank in 2005; and a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Kay Arbour.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Central United Methodist Church in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, on Monday, January 7, beginning at 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Rev. Victoria Hadaway, pastor, will officiate. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Entombment will be in the Oaklawn Chapel Gardens mausoleum.
