It is with great sadness the family of William (Bill) Roderick Goodall announces his passing at Sault Area Hospital on July 12, 2023. Son of late Roderick and Mary Eleanor Goodall, Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Betty, his sons Rod (Laura), Bill Jr., Steven Rhys (Carol), George Robertson (Claire), and his daughter Wendi Everitt (Richard). Bill was also: Loving Grandad to Tyson, Katie, Dustin, Mattie, Mitchell, and Christian; Caring Poppa to Shaen, Finn, Sydney, Evan, Grady, and Tilly; Great-Grandad to Ember.
Brother of Robert Goodall (Sandy) and late Mary-Jane Ripley; Cherished brother-in-law to Jean Scott (late Dick), Jim and Barb Currie, John Hansen (late Anne), late Belle and Raoul Thibodeau, and late Sally and Eugene Tallon; and Fun-loving uncle and mentor to many nieces and nephews.
Bill was a happy man - a true gentleman. He was charming, friendly, kind, and caring. He was pragmatic and had a zest for a life that was full of love, travel, and adventure. He was never happier than when taking on a project, either for himself or anyone else. He loved his career as a Consulting Engineer, which allowed him to travel widely and share his expertise with many. He happily spent his winters in Florida, where he was able to pursue a wide variety of activities and hobbies and socialize with many special friends. His other happy place was Lupin Lane in Bruce Mines, where he endlessly worked and enjoyed the company of his neighbours and held open house to family and friends. His spirit lives on in the wonderful memories he left us, the skills that he gave us, and the work ethic he imparted to us.
Our heartfelt thanks go to our local Alzheimer’s Association, especially Debby, Valerie, Keara, and Kayla, and to the ladies of the VON. No words are enough to thank the caring staff of 3B and, in particular, Doctor Fera. If desired, contributions to our local Alzheimer’s Association or VON would be appreciated.
Bill has been cremated and his Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
