It is with great sadness that the family of Clifford Hicks announces his passing on February 25, 2024. Clifford was born on November 10, 1951, to Irma and Harold Hicks in Atikokan. His early years and education were spent in Atikokan, southern Ontario (Parkhill) and Sault Ste. Marie. Clifford attended the Radio College of Canada in Toronto and upon completion was hired by National Cash Register Co. for their Timmins office. While in Timmins, he caught the “prospector” bug and became a licenced prospector. Cliff moved to Sault Ste. Marie to continue to work with N.C.R. until the co. left Canada. Prospecting then became his full-time employment dealing with mining co.’s and fellow prospectors. As with all mining ventures, there were both failures and successes, but most of all, it was fun doing what he really wanted to do. Cliff will be sadly missed by prospecting partners, George and Jim, and his “political” discussions with the A &W coffee group. Cliff also had a great passion for black powder firearms and became a skilled black powder hunter, enjoying many years of hunting in and around Marion Lake.

Clifford was predeceased by mother and father. Those left to carry on his memory are his siblings Vern (Irene), Bradley (Ann), Claudia (Ken), David, and nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
