Passed away on Thursday July 4th, 2024 at the age of 94.
Loving husband to the late Merla Jeanne MacDougall (nee Logan). Cherished father to Susan Albo (Aldo), late John MacDougall and Laura Jeanne MacDougall. Papa to Melanie Bykkonen (Kevin), Amanda Albo (Mark). Great Papa MacDougall to Mihkel, Lucas and Lilyanna. Son of the late Stuart and Leona MacDougall. Brother of the late Stuart (late Jean), late Doug (Ann Corris, late Joan) and Ken. Roderick will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Roddy spent his summers as a young man working up the ACR and later gained employment at Algoma Steel; where he spent the next 35 years, working various positions and ending his career as a Lab Supervisor. He loved the outdoors, always trekking off to various lakes east and north of the Sault. He enjoyed spending time at the family cottages in Batchawana, Goulais Bay and Marlette Bay. He loved riding his Honda 90 trail bike, prospecting, going out on the water in his canoe or motor boat, going for walks and taking photographs. Hiawatha was a favourite of his in all Seasons, where he spent many hours enjoying nature walks and cross country skiing. Dad was also a History buff, he strummed a little guitar and enjoyed making making furniture and building things.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton and Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E, 705-759-2522). Family and friends are welcome to St. Luke's Cathedral on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 1:00 pm burial of Cremated Remains at Greenwood to follow.
