She was married to Roland McEwen in 1953, and off they went to Germany, where he was stationed in the Army. They had the privilege of exploring Germany, France, Netherlands, and Halifax before settling down once again in Sault Ste. Marie. Here, they enjoyed many years of family life, camping at Haviland Bay and Jones’ Landing. Dorothy always gave back through volunteering with the Girl Guides, the F. J. Davey Home, and other community events. She enjoyed spending time with her Y Hikers, her Pool Group, and her grandkids. Dorothy will be missed by her lifelong friend Shirley. Special thanks to the staff at the F. J. Davey Home on floor 2B for their ongoing care and outstanding compassion.
