Passed away at her home on December 16, 2018, just shy of her 100th birthday. Born February 8, 1919. Predeceased by her legendary husband John in 2001 after celebrating 60 years together. Also predeceased by her 2 sisters, Mary & Sophie with whom she shared a special bond. Forever in the hearts of sons, Randy and Don and their wives, Joanne and Lynn, grandchildren, Jill and Christopher, great granddaughter Sophia and nephew Hank Woodland and family. Special “mother” to niece Deb (Robert MacVeigh), nephew Peter (2005) and Jocelyne Murray, great niece, Chantal Ardiel (Rory) and great nephew, Patrick Murray. Honorary "Baba" to Emma, Abbey and Anna Ardiel and also missed by her extended family in Manitoba and British Columbia. Peggy led a very active life. She appreciated her Ukrainian heritage playing mandolin in the orchestra, doing traditional dancing and preparing Ukrainian food. Peggy was a world traveller who loved walking, reading, jigsaw puzzles and knitted many Christmas socks for countless school children. She was a letter writer par excellence, a remarkable hostess who made everyone feel special in her home. Well into her 90's, Peggy still felt she was 16 years old on the inside. She was always game for new adventures with Lynn, Jocelyne and Don. Peggy loved being anywhere her family hung out. She lived in her home until the end, supported by her family and the wonderful women from the March of Dimes. Special thanks to Mandy. Our thanks and appreciation goes to Peggy's many close friends and neighbours who brought her such joy. In lieu of flowers, go out and have a great dinner with your family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to O'Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St, 705-759-8456.
