1953-2019
It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia "Patte" Jean Trainor (nee Hillock) in the early morning hours of Monday, January 14, 2019 in St. Petersburg, Florida at the young age of 65. Patte was the cherished wife and best friend of Fred Trainor of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She will be greatly missed by her step-children Duane (Allyson) Trainor and Bobbi (Tony) De Silva and her dearest grandchildren Kavita and Guyen De Silva. She leaves behind her loving sister Susie (Mike) TenEyck and brother Ron (Carol) Hillock. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews. She was the dearly loved "sister" of Tom (Benita) Trainor. Patte was predeceased by her parents, Gayle (Fred) Kokko and Richard Hillock and her brother, Michael Hillock.
Patte was born in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan on May 26, 1953. She led a very active life as a registered nurse and caregiver, with a career at Michigan Corrections that spanned more than 30 years. She also owned and operated a successful restaurant in the Sault. The West Pier Drive-In was her pride and joy. She worked tirelessly at the restaurant from sun up to sun down and folks would come from all over to enjoy the best burger in Northern Michigan. Patte had just hung up her apron in September for the last time to start enjoying her well-deserved retirement alongside her "Freddy". She was looking forward to lazy summer days at camp on Lake Superior and the warm winter sunshine in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Our hearts are broken and we will forever miss her beautiful smile.
A Celebration of Patte's Life will be held in the summer. (Local arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre 705-759-8456).
