August 12, 1935 - March 26, 2025
Passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 in his 90th year. Predeceased by his wives Jean and Laura. He is now reunited with his loving children Charlotte, Jason and Patti. Survived by his grandsons Kyle Bisier (Alyshia), Oliver and Winston Smith. Stepfather of Jackie Slawson, Gerry Blake, Dwayne Sweezey, Ramona Waye, Cheryl Sweezey, and Waide Sweezey. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Eugenia Wallace. Brother of the late Roy Wallace, late Patricia McFarlane (Garry), late Walter Wallace (Mary) and the late Sylvia Mann (late Bill). He will be sadly missed by his big sister Betty Christiansen (late Nils). Bill will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and family friend Dean.
Bill proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Radio Operator and continued his passion for communications as an Amateur HAM Radio Operator. Bill retired from Algoma Steel after a long career as a Journeyman Millwright 1959 -1992. He continued to always have a special gift for fixing things.
Bill loved camping, travelling, enjoyed music, photography and spending time with family. He continued as a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion participating every year in the Remembrance Day Ceremony.
Bill’s quick wit and bright smile brought joy to anyone in his presence.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes a private service has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 would be greatly appreciated by the family.
