Since the Oil Companies are offering no reasons for the Gas Price Hike I have to assume that it is gouging of the Consumer on Holiday Week-ends. Andrea Horwarth has a plan to stop the gouging---Maybe we should listen to her.
And you believe this? Do you have any idea of how much governments take in on taxes for a litre of gasoline?
14.7 per cent provincial Gasoline Tax;
10 cent Federal Excise Tax;
5 per cent federal Goods and Services Tax (GST); and
8 per cent provincial Sales Tax
The higher the pump price, the more they take in.
How much does a 1/2 litre bottle of water cost?
Didn't McDougal Fuels acquire some additional properties recently? They have to pay for them somehow.
Having only one wholesaler is the problem. I was in Windsor recently, and prices ranged between 122.9 and 132.9, but was able to find a station selling at 119.9.
horwath has a plan.................seriously ??? supporters of the ndp must be dreaming in techni-colour if they believe that horwath and the ndp have any kind of a plan that will help us in some way without further destructive behavior to our already damaged economy. Remember, the ndp don't want the pipeline that would create 1000's of good paying jobs and billions of tax revenue. The trouble with the ndp is they have the ability to talk from both sides of their mouths and actually think they get away with it. Our debt is $350 Billion and horwath preaches that she will spend more billions. Folks, it doesn't work that way in the real world where there are consequences for pie in the sky promises. Please cast your vote on June 7.
If your so all knowing, maybe you should start a new career..
Hey Fatafr, so what’s your platform? Whose your choice to vote for? Can’t think of what you have against the NDP since last time they had any power in Ontario was more than 25 years ago.
Fatafr, the NDP does, in fact, have a plan - they have released an election platform. The conservative party has yet to release a platform. How could anyone vote for a party having no idea what they intend to do, if anything? That's what you're doing if you vote for somebody with no platform....
It well never change hate to say it but a dollar a litre is now a thing of the passed gas companies and government alike we'll never lower it until there is a week or so where not one vehicle is on the road since that would never happen gas we'll never go down soon it we'll be up to a buck fifty
I currently do not own a vehicle, but when I did the price of fuel was only a minor factor inybdecision to drive. If travelling was required, then I had to pay the price. Otherwise, I would avoid any lengthy trips.
An alternative to driving long distances on any week end would be having travel alternatives besides cars, buses and plane. I'm talking about passenger trains that are more environmentally friendlier than other means of transport. All we need is a like-minded government.
why does gas prices only go up on long weekends , holidays, or when someone farts by a pipeline???? gouging the consumer that's why. fuc. the math we know what it is!!!!!!
all the parties are f... en thieves we just don't have anyone else to vote for so its the least of the worst. in the usa most of ours would have been shot by now.
NAW, roll coal every day and vote TrumpFord cuz i dont give a F! suck it snofwlakes!
Very eloquent and great spelling, guess you drank a bit too much lead in the water.
In this day and age,for most people,gasoline is as necessary to function as food ,water,and health care.Why does the government not regulate the marketing of gasoline,in order to provide the consumers with a fair price and the producers,distributors,and retailers a fair profit.I am amazed that this concept has never been proposed in any juristicion in Canada by any politician.
