I don't believe students will return to school until fall. People will slowly return to work beginning in 6-8 weeks.

Things will hopefully never be the same again. We weren't ready for this. Years of austerity measures ensured our health care system was doing the bare minimum and we have paid a toll in human life. We also have hopefully gained some perspective on some of our minimum/low wage workers whom deserve more than they get in wage and benefits.

Many years of austerity measures to come.

You got to wonder if countries like Canada and others had not wasted so much money on climate change and had instead focused on healthcare and nursing homes, how many lives would have been saved around the world. We better be more focused on healthcare and the economy over next few years, at least until we get back on our feet and out if the extreme debt hole we will be in.

I would imagine same could be said if politions didnt get yearly raises and get housing subsidies ect.

i bet all the money we spend on subsidizing albertas oil industry could buy a lot of n95 masks.

A few politicians raises is no comparison to the billions wasted on trying to control the suns effect on the earth. I am all for policing pollution but C02 is not pollution. But there is only one taxpayer pocket and it needs to be focused in healthcare where we obviously lost focus. ( with Mcguinty..Wynne and Trudeau being led by the nose by enviro zealots. )

You're joking right? Climate change has, and will continue to, cause trillions of dollars of losses for the worlds economies.

And fighting climate change that will happen no matter what Canada does or spends. Will cost thousands of lives as seen over past month because not enough of budgets was spent on healthcare , nursing homes etc etc Our new normal needs to concentrate on healthcare and economy.

Panther - CO2 is being produced in enormous excess beyond natural level: it's a pollutant. That it's a root cause of climate change (not the sun) is simply a fact that's backed up by 50 years of research, the same as any other proven phenomena. Having an opinion on climate change is like having an opinion on why water freezes.

The federal government is about to spend more money to cover that up.

I was hoping that the new normal would be more caring people who are willing to listen to the opinions of others without being insulting and negative about everything .

Lots of nudges coming. More video conferencing, online learning and banking, working from home, larger stock of necessities in the average home and more Canadian vacations may be the changes happening now that don't go away after this has passed.

It will never be the same and that is a good thing. I hope our Prime minister and his cabinet see that their focus is all wrong. It’s time to look after our own country in pretty much every area. Seniors, vets, military, special needs, education, health care, housing, manufacturing in our own country. Work towards Being much more self sufficient. Providing good jobs, whereby people can afford a house and raise a family. This can’t be accomplished on $15 hr. This is an urgent immediate focus, not a long range plan. Our country is increasing in poverty. One way to help accomplish some relief is by cutting personal taxes as well as property taxes. This will help families to get out of debt quicker. Encourage long term savings. Remove the restrictions on TFSA’s and RRSP’s

I can see a big discussion on guaranteed wages for all coming up. We have to make changes.
