Trudeau has always put the WEF and UN ahead of his country. He is not a leader, never was and never will be. He and Freeland are merely virtue signalling politicians and poor ones at that. As much as he pandered to the UN council for a seat they didn’t want him either. This failed attempt cost Canadian taxpayers billions of dollars. Supporters of his should hold their heads in shame.
But hey he legalized pot…

Local realtors should also be held to some account when they knowingly sold many of these properties to those out of town shell companies during the recent bidding war days. They could’ve certainly been less greedy and had local resident purchasers best interest at heart and mind instead of their own wallets. I would put much of the blame squarely on them for over inflating property values knocking our local buyers out of competing in those selfish bidding wars.

So very very sad.

I put the blame squarely on our MP and the previous mayor who pushed for greater immigration in rural northern areas. There was zero thought put into the impact and strain that large incoming immigration numbers would have on our health care locally. Their only concern was tax $$s. I’m not against immigration however, building up your healthcare and housing infrastructure first should have been a priority before bringing in thousands of new people into an overburdened system would’ve made logical sense. But then logic and sense seem to be lacking in our elected officials these days.

Should put the bon soo mascot in referee stripes at the top of the crane pretending to drop the puck. Maybe use the fire departments ladder truck so he can stand on the platform.

Solution is quite simple
1) issue property standards order to owner that building must be maintained to OBC minimum standard (which hasn’t been met in years)
2) give him a compliance date, after which time of non-compliance have property demolished under municipal property standards by-law.
3) place demolition cost lien against owners property tax bill
4) once owner defaults on tax payment, expropriate the property and city puts it up for sale.
5) credible local developers will purchase the property and build beautiful housing hi-rises and city will recover demo costs through property taxes building permits etc
4) the site will become a cash flow cow for city from tax revenues for years to come.

School rankings have historically and should continue to be measured by basic academic performance in 3 core subjects. Those being math, reading comprehension and science. These subjects are universally recognized as the gold standard in measuring learning ability, aptitude and knowledge. The nay-saying parents that think the measurements should be based on counting the different colours of a unicorn or the amount of likes their kids get on TikTok are only creating larger barriers for their kids when they hit the real work world!

If the city keeps the property and demolished the old hospital on the taxpayer dime, then we are $8 million knee deep into this property. Who in their right mind would pay the city $8 million to purchase a piece of bare land? There really is no other choice. A contractor will quickly remediate the property and start a residential build that will hopefully produce a taxable property. We can then quickly recoup the $4 million initial city investment and make that property a beautiful place instead of the eyesore it is today.
