While this is generally true, the Federal government can wield a fair amount of power in this area due to spending power. Poilievre plans to incentivize municipalities to cut all the ridiculous red tape and zoning rules that make it so difficult for homes to be built. Those communities that build, get Federal money. Those that don't, get no money.

I agree that Scott is the best candidate. My problem is with Ford and his government in general. He is not a conservative. Not fiscally and not socially. But of all the bad options, the Conservatives are the best...or least bad, anyway.

The company loses hundreds of millions of dollars every year. If I were one of the workers, I'd be more worried about CP being sold off to a private company than my raise. If a company loses that much per year, no employee (be it executive or mail carrier) should get a raise. Focus needs to be on making the company competitive and profitable...or at minimum, much less unprofitable.

"Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson star in a Christmas action comedy that's as merry as it makes little sense"
If you expect someone to take your movie reviews seriously, try to craft an insult in it's proper form. That first line is terrible writing. I saw the movie and enjoyed it for what it was and I have no problem with people disagreeing, but at least do it properly.

I agree with Jim, renovations are crazy expensive between labour and costs of materials. If they're totally renovating these places, expect to pay for how nice they'll be. I wish things weren't so expensive either but inflation has gone crazy since Covid started.

Not sure why the Ford government would do this. It was going to happen at the end of 2025 anyway, why speed it up and lose so much taxpayer money to the big brewers? Not to mention forgone revenue. They should have just let it happen after the end of the contract.

True, it's a small percentage of the population, however, nothing is stopping you from becoming part of that group and receiving the benefit. And I'm sure the Y wouldn't refuse any memberships over the 4500 so it has the potential to be even more people.

Except that it will be a slow rip of the bandaid over several years in a best case scenario. I agree we need to greatly reduce the dependency on the US but it's going to take a long time and a lot of work to develop.
