I read with interest the article on the Rainsmere Hotel.
Perhaps you should also have an article on the other hotel on the Island namely the Hilton Beach Hotel better known as the Tilton' Hilton. My great great grandfather John Archibald and his wife Ann built it back in 1879. And as we all know it is still going strong.
It was originally built on the corner of Cedar and Maple Streets and was moved later to its present location after Johns death in 1881. Ann then ran it as a hotel and drinking establishment until she sold it. The Historical Society can no doubt give you more information if you require and I am also available. You have my email.
