Carney is Trudeau 2.0. He's almost 3 months in and has done nothing. These tariffs needed to be instituted exactly two seconds after the USA instituted its tariffs.

I got a novel idea... How about you do your job? You signed on and are paid to be a councillor, and as part of your job, you are required to attend meetings. Working together with our neighbour, SSM Michigan, is how you resolve the problems you supposedly are against.

Too much talk, not enough action. We need to be putting boots on the ground now with new Canadian projects and instituting retaliatory tariffs today. They've had 6 months already and have done nothing. This is not a negotiable battle; whatever deal you make with the USA today will not be honoured tomorrow. We need new trade partners and markets today. We are the only ones that can fix this, nobody can help us, so why wait?

This council has lost its mind! Imagine dodging the crackheads and homeless shooting drugs in the middle of the street with all their garbage and shopping carts. How are you going to clear the snow in the winter? Europe does these types of streets because their cities began as this a thousand years ago, and they don't have space options. I got a novel idea for this council: FIX OUR ROADS FIRST. When your asset management plan shows your roads are all fixed to an acceptable standard, then you can entertain frivolous ideas.

This is an uneducated comment. Lowest bidder doesn't necessarily mean the lowest quality. Lots of the time, the price of a tender reflects how busy contractors are, the time of year the job must be done, and the availability/cost of labour and machinery to do the task. If a contractor has extra availability or a competitive edge, their price can be significantly lower. A good contract and bid specification will ensure that the quality and scope of deliverables are achieved regardless of who is used to fulfill the job.

This City has lost its mind. The asset management plan states that over 22% of our roads are rated as 'poor' - very poor- and these individuals want to spend $17M on a pool in a river?! The City has a poor track record on project implementation; no doubt, this one would also balloon over budget. With so many other priorities in this city: roads, addiction treatment & rehabilitation, more policing, etc. this is tantamount to fiscal irresponsibility.

People are arrested or detained at the border all the time. Just because the arrests do not make the news doesn't mean illegal activities aren't happening. It is the same with our City Police... listen to a police scanner sometime, they respond to countless calls for weapons, assault, drugs etc. each and every day with only a fraction making the news.

Many possible reasons for this. As long as the boat calls Customs and reports its arrival, there's nothing nefarious. Tourists navigate their boats to the cottages of friends on both sides of the border. Could be a status First Nations person exercising their right to trade and travel.
