Especially when they show them doing it.

Well ok then. I guess I am sick of hearing it on the nightly news.

Why do news reporters have to mention something was "Physically distanced" . They had a meeting. Who cares?

They sat at home doing a portion of their jobs drawing a full paycheck. Don't give me they worked hard and yadda yadda yadda. You all know teachers who had it good financially while others were laid off. If that is fine within the confines of their new contract, fine. They don't want Toronto to hire teachers privately as it is a gateway to a two tier system, yet cannot guarantee their members will be in full force this September, which if they don't feel safe then fine, stay home. Also don't go to the store, a restaurant or your friend's camp or house this summer.

Kind of eluding to the cash based world of people who hold jobs with other entities but do these carpentry jobs on the side. Sorry for the misunderstanding

Wait a minute. If all members sign a contract to only buy local that might work. That means in their personal life. Shop local and dine local Only chains allowed need to be owned by a local franchisee. That includes stores and restaurants. This includes all the members of their household. No gas across the river, no milk no Amazon or ebay. All "toys" need to be bought locally. If they ALL sign off on this, I stand in support of them!

If you close off the bidding process you leave yourself open to higher prices. A larger net will yield a wide spread of bids. Local guys should come in lower every single time as anyone from outside the region would have to have lodging, food and travel in their bid. When bidding on government dollars you don't get to charge what you want because they have the money. Who they should be fighting are the local "handymen" using carpentry and the other trades as their side hustle.

Also, lets allow a local business to establish a restaurant and give it over to an out of town restauranteur that will leave in the middle of the lease and then have that local guy come back after treating him so poorly.
