I enjoy the various events hosted on Queen Street throughout the year. I look forward to “Moonlight Madness”, and wandering Queen Street checking out whatever is going on. It’s usually a time to try out some new snacks, or hear local musicians.
I’m just wondering what inspired the Queenstown Association to schedule their first Street Party on the same evening as the opening night of Rotaryfest, with their full slate of free music on two stages, as well as the Ribfest, rides, and other activities?
Seems a shame that the two events have to compete for our attention.

The lot is owned and maintained by the mall owners. That’s all we need to know! If other private lots had their parking spaces abused, who’d not support them. This is no different. Just because “you always did something”, doesn’t make it right. It’s the same with vacant land. Because it’s been used for years by people actually trespassing, doesn’t mean the owners have to allow it to continue. There are liability issues if someone was to injure themselves while parking illegally that the mall owners shouldn’t be responsible for. Respect other people’s property.

The search feature on the Local Food Trail map is annoying!

I don’t know the significance of the United Nations badge adorned soldiers arm at the top of the article, as it says clearly in the article that the troops were to deploy on a NATO mission! Some attention to detail, or a 2 minute Google search would render an accurate image of the appropriate NATO patch. I’m sure that SooToday has direct access to a great number of photos. Thank you for sharing the article.

Doc Mike was always a good friend! As my doctor, and later as my neighbour, he was a good man! Condolences to Sarah and Nick! I’ll miss his cigar smoke as he drove River Road, always ready for friendly words!

No more than 5! Sadly, the current allowable norm.

I’ve had every appointment since February cancelled, or deferred! How open for business is that? Same at SAH, but they are up front about it! Bit of conflict between reality and this article! No?? I understand the reason for moving appointments till after the current situation has resolved, but don’t tell us we’re not booking appointments when the GHC is cancelling them.

CPP was never intended to be a living pension! We were always responsible for ourselves. Living for the moment in our earlier years means living with far less in our long senior years. Hopefully, all the people reading this article and comments will encourage their children and grandchildren to start saving young, perhaps at the cost of not getting something today! Saving for retirement must be treated as an essential monthly expense, and never be touched.

Can’t wait to visit. A nice spot to relax for a bit when you’re out and about, and grab a coffee, a snack(s)😎, and something to go!
Best of luck in your new endeavours!!
