You can lock the country down, turn it into an authoritarian police state, and throw everybody in jail. It won't make any difference on the drug problem. That has already been demonstrated south of the border with their failed drug policies of the '80's and '90's to where they're arguing about reform. Turns out, it's VERY expensive for state governments to be housing as many prisoners as they have to, and SOMEONE has to pay for it all.
Meanwhile, people riding on their high horses, and moralizing about responsibility, is not an answer. None of us are perfect. Just stop.

Do you really think they care where the drugs are coming from, when all the addicts care about is getting their next fix? When the rest of us only have time to chase after the next dollar, and then tend to our own problems. C'mon!

Especially with the way the US government has been run since the 1990's.
Sorry, but whenever a politician makes such a statement, it's guaranteed to be Machiavellian, and self serving in nature. Self fulfilling prophecies are never coincidental. 'Premeditated' is the correct analogy, here.

Just like capital punishment has deterred murderers from committing homicides.
Take off your thinking cap. It appears to be defective.

Then move. I did it.

The only people that claim there's plenty of jobs in the city, are the ones off in La-La Land, with no clue at all as to what is going on in town.
Nobody is going to do a job they feel is beneath them, when they're off going to post-secondary, or apprenticing in a skilled trade, and applying themselves for something better. That's the point of building a career. Not to be some loser, stuck in dead end job after dead end minimum wage job, and then puffing about it on the internet, as if you're some working class hero.
Guess what? No one cares about your 'heroism'. Simple as that.

....and the fake pious shall save the world through the passing of the offering plate. For only $9.99, Christ can forgive you too, for as many times as necessary. Why learn anything at all about right and wrong, and your own moral character, when all you need to escape your divine, and due judgement, is money? Sin all weekend, and then have your soul laundered, just so you can do it again, and again, and again....
The Romans had the right idea, when they used to throw Christians to the lions.

Nope. It is not the same, and it is very sad, indeed. Even ten years ago, it wasn't this bad. But with the way it is now, between the increasing crime, the drugs, and dwindling opportunities, it all played a significant factor in my leaving the Soo for greener pastures.
I'll be frank, though. The Mrs. was a bigger believer in the Soo than I ever was, but in the end, even she had enough of it.

I invite you to go right ahead, and think whatever you want regarding the zip code. It has no bearing on my whereabouts.
I'll give you a hint, though. There's no snow, and there's an actual economy here.
Good luck! :)

....or maybe you should run for office, and present your solutions to the masses?
