I'm not sure of the history of how or why the residential schools were started, but either it was the government or the catholic church or both that were responsible. If the catholic church was doing this on their own, then they need to be accountable for the genocide. If our government knew this was going on and encouraged it, then they both need to be accountable.
But from past history of the abuse that children received at the hands of a catholic priest, I certainly question who is actually responsible for this genocide.

OMG. The war was over 80 years ago. Why do these people feel that an apology is their right to have?
At the time, when the world was at war, then Canada was taking every precaution to keep our country safe. No one with a connection to the enemy countries could be trusted. It's called war.
Yes, it's sad that these people were interminated, but all the countries were doing the same thing. Keeping their countries safe as best they could. No country should have to apologize for that.

I just love when they put stuff like this on the news. "the majority of people". Who are these people?
I didn't get to vote. Do they only take votes from the big cities and egnore the rest of the country?
I don't their polls seriously. Just one more example of government controlled news. Fear mongaring.

These flight cancelations should have happened months ago. Some people just don't get it. STAY HOME
If you're that board and need the relaxation of the tropics, buy a sun lamp and turn on some ocean waves music. It's cheaper and safer.

I'm all for people making a livelihood and providing for families, but laws are put in place for the protection of the food source that you harvest. I agree with the fishing during certain seasons. The law was put in place to protect from over harvesting. Every Canadian needs to abide by these laws so that we can continue to harvest without depleting the stock. I don't understand why indenginous people feel that they don't need to follow these laws. It's for the good of all Canadians to follow these rules. If you live in Canada and are a citizen then follow the rules. No exceptions.
And no special privileges to a certain race of people. We are all in this together. If you don't like it, then try another country.

I think it's great. Let the other countries get the vaccine first.
Let them be the Guinea pigs in this experiment.
There is no way I'm getting the vaccine. I'll take my chances on my own immune system before I inject a foreign drug into my body to "protect" me from covid.
Remember the thalidomide vaccine.? Experts thought that was a good idea too. Look how that turned out. No thank you.

I'm neutral on the tow rope idea. It would extend the time to play on the hill, but kids need to get more exercise.
I've always wondered why there was never a light installed at the top or bottom of the hill. It would make sledding safer and people could sled longer at night.
Plus, it requires no upkeep as in running a tow rope. Just a thought.

People flocking to these beaches have total disregard for human life. They are selfish and ignorant with the mindset of "it won't happen to me" attitude. I realize that they can't close the beaches, but they can charge people for parking. But make it a significant amount that just might deter some people from coming. Plus, it will help with the economy of Wasaga Beach.

I hope those traffic lights are also for the end of the highway heading east out of the city. It's ridiculous sitting there waiting for 3 cars to come through from Garden River while traffic backs up half a kilometer to leave the soo. I've had to sit through 5 light changes before I was able to turn onto the 4 lane. That light should be on a sensor so when the cars have gone through, the main traffic can proceed to turn onto the 4 lane. Sometimes there isn't even any cars coming from Garden River and you need to still sit there waiting, meanwhile traffic backs up.

How disgraceful that the pope can't make an apology and accept the responsibility for this horrible crime.
I'm not catholic, but it would certainly make me think twice about being one. Disgraceful.
