My name is Dr. Ed Turgeon. With Dr. Michael DiSanto, I Co-Direct the Music Program at Algoma U. Michael and I are proud of Music’s record high course enrolment of 55.7 FTE (Full Time Equivalent) in '24-'25, surpassing the previous record of 42.8 in 2018. This record represents Music's resilience, even through a pandemic. The Visual Art program's record enrolment and associated profits in '23-'24 complemented Music's enrolment record and profits in '24-'25. These facts prove that Algoma U arts programs are not money losing programs. Fiscal successes will continue as Algoma U arts programs make gainful changes and new partnerships that deepen and enhance offerings, including Great Lakes International Summer Music Experience, to grace our campus during '25/'26 under the directorship of Dr. Matthew Warnock. We look forward to seeing the community attend and enjoy GLISME events, as well as many arts events offered by excellent and talented Music and Visual Art Faculty, Students, and Guests
