Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police patrol services charged a driver with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle on Nov. 19.
Around midnight, officers responded to reports of a single vehicle collision on Bainbridge Street.
Upon arrival, officers observed a pickup truck which had struck the deck of a residence and had also struck the side of another residence. The collision caused significant property damage.
Upon approaching the vehicle, officers spoke with the person identified as the driver of the truck.
Officers developed grounds to believe the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired.
The accused was arrested and charged with:
- Dangerous Operation
- Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and/or Drug
- Operation while Impaired – Excessive Blood Drug Concentration
Jason Genua, 29, was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 23.
