Young female to appear in bail court:

Last night city police were called to a west end group home regarding a young female assaulting staff members and causing damage. It is alleged that the accused, a 15-year-old female, threw a cordless phone at a staff member and later assaulted a staff member. It is further alleged that the accused caused damage to a wall at the group home and damaged a vehicle. The accused is charged with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon, two counts of mischief and one count of breach of probation.

Male arrested for theft, possession of stolen Property:

Yesterday morning city police arrested and charged a 19-year-old male with theft under $ 5,000, possession of stolen property, indecent exhibition, breach of probation and trespass by night. It is alleged that at approx.
4:20 am on July 23rd the accused was pushing a stolen lawnmower on Pine St. At the time of this offence the accused is said to have been naked from the waist down. Michael Turmaine, age 19, of 768 Pine St. will be appearing in court on Aug 24th at 9:00 am.

Female arrested for failing to appear for court:

Yesterday morning city police were called to the Civic Centre, 99 Foster Dr., regarding a person causing a disturbance. Upon arrival police located and arrested a female that was wanted for several warrants. It is alleged that the accused, Karen Shellhorn, age 53, of 812 Bonney St. failed to appear for identification on May 11th, 2009 and failed to appear for court on May 25th, 2009. She will be appearing in court on Aug 24th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for failing to appear for court:

Yesterday afternoon city police arrested 20-year-old Taylor Haysey, of 17 Charles Rd for failing to appear for court. It is alleged that he failed to appear for court on July 15th 2009. He will be appearing in court on Aug24th at 9:00 am.

Property crimes:

Break and enter:

A residence in the 100 block of Boston Ave was entered. It is unknown what was stolen.

Theft:

A quantity of tools was stolen from the Possamai Construction gravel pit at 1183 Old Goulais Bay Rd.
