Drug Warrant Arrest: On the 18th of June at 7:50 pm, members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Street Team, Emergency Services Unit and the Canine Unit executed a search warrant at 109 Birch Street, the residence of Courtney Michael Casey.
Drug Warrant Arrest:

On the 18th of June at 7:50 pm, members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Street Team, Emergency Services Unit and the Canine Unit executed a search warrant at 109 Birch Street, the residence of Courtney Michael Casey. During the course of the search, officers located 81.6 grams of cannabis marihuana, 3.5 grams of cannabis resin, packaging materials, 2 operation digital scales and a cellular telephone. As a result 53 year-old Courtney Michael Casey was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking. He is to appear in court on the 27th of July. The estimated street value of the drugs seized was $1,700.00.

Male Arrested for Assaulting Conservation Officer at Bellevue Park:

20 year-old Christopher Wilson of 267 Pim Street was arrested on the 18th of June at 6:30 pm at Bellevue Park on Queen Street East and charged with one count of assault peace office, one count of resist peace officer and two counts of breach of probation. On the 18th of June at 6:31 pm City Police were called to Bellevue Park to assist a Conservation Officer that was at the park investigating a dead goose under the Migratory Birds Convention Act. It is alleged that when the Conservation Officer was dealing with the persons responsible, one of them, the accused, attempted to punch the officer and also resisted arrest. He is to appear in bail court this morning. The Conservation Officer will be following up the investigation regarding the contravention of the Migratory Birds Convention Act.

Domestic Related Arrests:

1) A 50 year-old male was arrested on the 18th of June at 11:25 am at a downtown residence and charged with one count of breach of probation and two counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 18th of June around 11:25 am the accused attended at his girlfriend’s residence and pounded on the door and attempted to get in. Officers attended and arrested the accused who had just been released on conditions an hour earlier, due to a domestic related assault the previous evening , with conditions he not attend at the victim’s residence. He was also on probation conditions to keep the peace and be of good behavior. The accused will appear in bail court this morning.

2) A 61 year-old male was arrested at his workplace on the 18th of June at 2:10 pm and charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged that on the 17th of June in the evening hours, the accused and his girlfriend were walking on Trunk Road when they got into a verbal argument. The accused threw the victim to the ground, punched and kicked her. The victim had to attend at the hospital for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries as a result. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

3) A 51 year-old male was arrested on the 18th of June at 11:29 pm at his residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 17th of June at approximately 9 pm the accused and his common law wife were at a relative’s residence where he pushed her into a dresser causing minor injuries. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

4) A 50 year-old male was arrested on the 18th of June at 2:14 am at his residence and charged with two counts of assault and two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 18th of June at approximately 1:45 am the accused assaulted his common law spouse by punching her in the face three times, grabbed her and pushed her into a wall. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result. The accused is to appear in court on the 22nd of July.

Shoplifting Charges:

1) 25 year-old William McDonald of 101 Churchill Avenue (top-garage apt.) was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 on the 18th of June at 7:10 pm at Joe’s No Frills on Korah Road. It is alleged that the accused attended at the grocery store just before 7 pm and stole four packs of razors. He was apprehended by store staff and held for police. He is to appear in court on the 20th of July.

2) 25 year-old Cindy Biron of 59 Cathcart Street (Main Floor) was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 on the 18th of June at 12:15 pm Zellers at the Station Mall. It is alleged that she attended at the store and stole some sunglasses. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. She is to appear in court on the 20th of July.

Property Crimes:

Thefts:


• A Trek Aluminum Mountain Bike, white in colour, with a baby seat support attached, was stolen form a residence property in the 500 block of Albert Street West.
• A blue Huffy 21-speed Mountain bike that was in the Station Mall bike rack was stolen in the afternoon hours on the 18th of June.
• Two bikes were stolen from the backyard of residence on Routledge Avenue.
• Wallets were taken from two vehciles, one in the 1000 block of Wellington Street East, the other on Dauphin Drive.

Break and Enter Report:

A residence in the 100 block of Wawanosh Avenue was entered sometime overnight from the 18th -19th of June. A Dell Laptop, a 32 inch LCD Television, jewellery and cash were reported stolen.
