A stabbing incident that occurred yesterday afternoon has left one victim with serious injuries, states a news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.
Officers responded to an altercation in the 100 block of Gore Street at approximately 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. It is alleged that the 30-year-old accused, Brandon Daigle, stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene.
Daigle was located by investigating officers a short time later and was found in possession of a knife at the time of his arrest.

On Jan. 4, 2022, officers with Patrol Services charged 30-year-old Brandon Daigle with aggravated assault.
Around 1:30 p.m., an altercation ensued between the accused and a man known to him in the 100 block of Gore Street. During the altercation, [it is alleged that] the accused pulled a knife and stabbed the victim before leaving the area.
Officers responded a short time later and located the victim suffering from serious injuries. The victim was transported to hospital.
Officers located the accused a short time later around Albert Street West and Carmen’s Way and he was arrested. A subsequent search of the accused found him to be in possession of a knife.
He is charged with:
• aggravated assault
• assault with a weapon
• possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
He was held for bail court.
