Owner of 19 dogs charged after someone received life-threatening injuries

An investigation revealed a victim was attacked by multiple dogs at the accused’s residence

On Thursday, Sault Police officers charged a 49-year-old with criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

On Nov. 11, 2024, a 911 caller reported a dog attack at a residence in the 0-100 block of Pentagon Boulevard. 

An investigation revealed a victim was attacked by multiple dogs at the accused’s residence and sustained life-threatening injuries. 

"There were believed to be 19 dogs inside the residence at the time of the attack, and the two main aggressors were seized and held at a local humane society," police said in a news release.

On Thursday, detectives attended the accused’s residence and arrested them.

Satu Raitis is charged with:

  • Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm

The accused was held pending a bail hearing.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Raitis is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
