A 42-year-old Sault resident is accused of stabbing another person over the weekend.
Around 6:30 a.m. Sunday, a 911 call was made reporting a stabbing at a residence in the 0-100 block of Chapple Avenue.
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded and arrested a suspect.
Police say the accused got into an argument with the victim — who was known to them — and stabbed the person with a hunting knife.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The accused is charged with:
- assault with weapon
- assault causing bodily harm
- failure to comply with undertaking (x3)
In order to protect the identity of the victim, Sault Police do not release the names of suspects accused of intimate partner violence.
