Bail Court

1) 28 year old Kevin James Bennett of 606 Wellington Street east was arrested on the 05 May 2009 at approx. 01:41 am after breaking into a home in the 100 block of Letcher Street. It is alleged the accused broke into the residence by forcing the back door. The accused then attempted to steal games from a Nintendo Game set. The homeowner who was awakened by the activity apprehended the accused. The accused resisted and in an attempt to flee assaulted the home owner by biting him. The accused was held for police. Bennett has been charged with break enter and commit as well an assault.

2) A 46 year old male will appear in bail court this morning charged with assault and 2 counts of breaching his probation order. It is alleged that on the 04 May 2009 the accused attended at the residence of his girl friend and began an argument. The accused through several articles around the apartment and then grabbed the female victim by her arms and shoving her. The police were called and the suspect arrested. No injuries were reported.

3) A 17 year old male will have date in court in June charged with 2 counts of possession of a narcotic. The drugs were located in the home by the parents of the accused who then called police. Drugs located were 5 oxycontin tablets and approx. 3 grams of marihuana.

Please be aware that a pair of very large moose have been wandering around the Great Northern Road, Northern Avenue and Sault College area overnight. Be cautious driving through and around the area.
