City Police Beat

At 6:20 p.m. on April 07, 2016, city police arrested 63-year-old Ralph Balciunas of East St. City Police were called regarding the accused breaking into an abandoned residence on Wallace Terrace. Police arrested Balciunas a short distance away.

On April 6, 2016 at 11:18 A.M. city police arrested 19 year old Sidney Shaganash of no fixed address, Sault Ste Marie. It’s alleged that the accused failed to comply with the terms of her probation. She will be appearing in bail court on April 07, 2016.

A small undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes were taken

He was allegedly living in an apartment without the knowledge of the tenant

The accused was on a probation order with conditions to keep away from Macs Mart

A pickup truck fled the scene after the collision

City Police attended to a local cab company earlier today regarding a robbery complaint. Investigation revealed that two males robbed a cab driver by knife point and made off with money, keys, a briefcase and cell phone.

At 7:05 p.m. on March 31, 2016 city police arrested 24-yea-old Brandon Steinburg of Goulais Ave. on outstanding warrants.

On March 29, 2016 a male age 19 allegedly concealed electronic equipment in a backpack and left the Walmart store without making any attempt to pay for the goods.

On March 28, 2016 city police arrested a 52-year-old accused because of outstanding warrants. The warrants consisted of the following charges: failing to attend court X 3 and failing to attend for finger prints.
