City Police Beat

On September 6 at approximately 2:30 a.m. city police officers were called to a domestic dispute in the north end of the city. Investigation revealed that there was a verbal argument between the two parties.

On September 5 2014 police were called to a downtown residence for a domestic dispute. Investigation revealed that the 55 year old male assaulted the female victim. The male was arrested for assault and will be appearing in WASH court on September 6.

Yesterday afternoon officers from Patrol Services arrested a 23-year-old male and charged him with one count of assault, one count of break and enter and three counts of breach of a release document.

Shortly before 5 a.m. this morning, patrol officers conducted a vehicle stop in the downtown area. Officers learned that the driver was suspended. He was arrested for drive under suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

On the 31 August 2014 Patrol Officers attended to a motor vehicle collision on Bennett Blvd. involving two vehicles. Four of the occupants of one of the vehicle sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.

On the 30th of August 2014, Patrol Services was investigating a number of break and enters in the east end of the City. The investigation led Patrol Officers to a home on Bristol Place where the suspect was located inside the residence.

On Thursday, August 28, 2014, police received a call to attend Avery Construction property on Industrial Court B. The property owner had observed unwanted persons on his property attempting to remove scrap metal without his permission.

A break and enter was reported to yesterday to a residence in the 300 block of Prentice Avenue. The resident indicates it occurred between the 17th and 24th of August.
