City Police Beat

On the 16 August 2014 a male was assaulted by two males in the 300 block of Queen St. East. One male struck the victim and the other threatened to pepper spray the victim. Both suspects were located and arrested a short time later in the area.

Arrests On August 15, 2014 an accused male age 23 was arrested by City Police for breaching a probation order. The conditions put on the accused were issued as a result of a domestic matter.

Break and enters A garage was broken into overnight in the 600 block of John Street and a bicycle was removed. Police responded to a complaint of break and enter in the 700 block of Wellington Street East.

On Thursday, August 14, City Police officers arrested 32-year-old Edward Bernard of Pim St. for theft and breach of probation. It is alleged that Mr. Bernard attended at Sears and left the store without paying for merchandise.

Arrests: On August 13, 2014 City Police responded to a call in 20 block of Wallace Terrace. On speaking to a male it was found that he had been driving his vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Break and Enter City police responded to a break and enter in the 20 block of Edison Avenue. A garage was entered and beer was taken. A warehouse was entered in the 500 block of Case Road. Auto parts were removed from the warehouse.

On the 11 August 2014 Candice Champagne (age 23) turned herself into the City Police. She was wanted on several outstanding warrants including theft under $5,000.00, breach of probation, and failing to appear in court.

On August 9 at approximately 11:30 p.m. city police were conducting a ride program at Second Line West and Town Line. As a result they arrested 53 year old Michael Hargis of Second Line West after registering a fail on the roadside screening device.

On the 9 August 2014 a male went into the Sears store in the Station Mall. He attended the electronics section of the business and placed a set of stereo speakers under his arm.

On August 8, 2014 a domestic argument out on the street led the City Police to an address in the west end of the city. On arrival, it was determined a man had just been recently released on conditions not to communicate with his ex-girlfriend.
