If you like fantastic choreography and brilliant costumes, show girls in feathers, tap dancing, and swashbuckling pirates, then "The Golden Age of Variety" might be just what you have been craving.

The Annual General Meeting of The Arts Council of Sault Ste. Marie & District will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2005 beginning at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be held at Loplops Lounge & Gallery at 651 Queen St. East. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Everyone knows that all the cool cats are doing it. Yep, the cool cats are most definitely reading Sootoday's 4-day Arts and Entertainment outlook to see what they will be doing for the weekend.

Beginning this Thursday, the Art Gallery of Algoma will be featuring a special exhibition of prison beds (amongst other recycled objects).

Sault Musical Comedy Guild will be their Spring Show, "A Celebration of Youth," an original musical revue of numbers from well known Broadway Musicals, directed by Lesley Walsh-Tibben with several of our cities talented youth peforming the numbers.

The Sault Ste. Marie chapter of Amnesty International, in partnership with Loplops and the Art Gallery of Algoma, is presenting "A Celebration of Hope", a collection of works by local artists, musicians and poets.

Something special will be happening at Loplops Lounge on the second Friday of every month -- a Zodiac party. What is a Zodiac party, you ask? It is a get together to celebrate the characteristics of people according to their astrological signs.

The Downbeat Lounge is bringing in a bunch of down-home, good natured, bright boys known as the Swiftys for your entertainment. The Swiftys are a band that has shared the stage with Lucinda Williams, The Sadies, and Fred Eaglesmith.
