The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is reporting one new wildland fire in the region as of this evening.
The latest fire, Wawa 9, is 0.1 of a hectare and located approximately 14 km south of Manitouwadge. The fire at this point is under control.
The fire is one of 15 active fires in the northeast region and is the lone fire that is not being observed at this point.
The fire hazard across the region is high in an area east of Wawa while the hazard is low in much of the rest of the region.
