Traffic travelling across the border via the International Bridge remains high.
The International Bridge saw an 18.9 per cent rise in May compared to the same month in 2023.
That's according to numbers released today by the International Bridge Administration, which said one-way traffic crossings between the two Saults totaled 93,154 for the month.
Commuter fares represented 44.5 per cent of those crossings, while 45.4 per cent were full-fare passenger cars.
The May 2024 numbers at a glance are:
- Full-Fare Passenger Cars: 42,332 (16.0 per cent increase)
- Commuter Fare: 41,463 (27.0 per cent increase)
- Cars Pulling Trailers: 3,535 (13.8 per cent increase)
- Commercial Trucks: 5,824 (4.4 per cent decrease)
As of May 31, 388,167 vehicles have crossed the bridge so far this year.
The bridge has processed 105.8 million bridge crossings since 1962.
