Jon Day had a highlight reel game to power his Korah Colts past the Sir James Dunn Eagles on Saturday afternoon.
With a 14-7 win at Rocky DiPietro Field, the surging Colts improve to 1-1 in the high school football senior division standings while Sir James Dunn falls to 1-1.
In all, Day rushed for 181 yards on 25 carries, completed an option pass to Jordan Morin for 30 yards, ran a kickoff back 46 yards, added a 15 yard punt return, recorded three tackles on defense, batted down three balls from the hands of receivers and scored both Korah touchdowns.
Korah took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter as Day scampered for a 21-yard touchdown.
In the second half, Travis Tormala avenged his missed extra point with a 75 yard single on the half's opening kickoff to give Korah a 7-0 lead. Dave McFadden hauled in a seven-yard touchdown pass from Dan Kennedy and Frank Weise added the convert for the Eagles to tie the game at 7-7 in the third quarter. Day sealed the win with 3:09 remaining on a six-yard touchdown run.
Tyson Vanderloo added 7.5 tackles for Korah while Jamie Lato made 5.5 tackles and Adam Day five.
For the Eagles, Nigel Milne rushed for 97 yards on 13 carries while Kofi Osei ran for 86 yards on 14 carries. Dan Kennedy completed four of 13 passes for 59 yards. Craig Johnson led the Eagles defense with 10 tackles while Kennedy added seven.
Jon Day was named offensive player of the week while Johnson was selected as defensive player of the week. The awards are sponsored by the Sault Sabercats and Sault Steelers.
Through two weeks of play, St. Mary's leads the division at 2-0 followed by Korah, Sir James Dunn and White Pines at 1-1. Bawating and St. Basil are tied at 0-1-1.
In week three action, Sir James Dunn tackles St. Mary's on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and White Pines meets Bawating on Friday at 7:30 p.m. St. Basil battles Korah on Saturday at 1 p.m.

In junior division play on Saturday morning, Sir James Dunn edged Korah 20-19. Jake Burmaster, Lucas Walker and J.J. Bergamin scored touchdowns for Sir James Dunn. Jordan Murtonen, Mike Burmaster and Riley King answered with touchdowns for Korah.
After week two, St. Basil, St. Mary's and Sir James Dunn are all tied at 2-0. Bawating, Korah and White Pines each sit at 0-2.
In the week ahead, St. Mary's hosts Sir James Dunn at 4:15 p.m., White Pines visits Bawating on Friday at 4:15 p.m. and Korah will entertain St. Basil on Saturday at 10 a.m.
