y Ken Hilderley SooToday.com Saturday, October 4, 2003 The Sir James Dunn Eagles are back in the win column after a 14-6 win over the White Pines Wolverines on Friday night. The Eagles evened their record at 2-2 in the high school football league senior division and won their first game since the opening week. The Wolverines fall to 1-3. With the game being played under sloppy conditions at Rocky DiPietro Field, the Eagles used two first half touchdowns to defeat the Wolverines. Dan Kennedy, who was moved from quarterback to fullback, opened the scoring in the first quarter on a nine-yard run. Frank Weise kicked his first of two converts for the Eagles. White Pines answered early in the second quarter as quarterback Ryan Maunu completed an 11-yard touchdown strike to Noah Rushon. Kennedy blocked the convert attempt. Kofi Osei scored late in the half on a one-yard plunge to give the Eagles a 14-6 lead. Neither team managed to score any points in the second half. Kennedy led the Eagles attack with 91 yards rushing on 12 carries. Nigel Milne added 77 yards on 14 attempts while Osei ran for 55 yards on 10 carries. Kennedy and Craig Johnson led the Eagles defense with 4.5 tackles each. Maunu completed nine of 20 passes for 105 yards for the Wolverines while Matt Premo caught four passes for 67 yards and Noah Rushon caught five balls for 38 yards and added 41 yards rushing on two carries. Rushon made eight tackles on defense while Premo added five. Week four action concludes Saturday afternoon as the St. Mary's Knights and St. Basil Saints renew their rivalry at Rocky DiPietro Field beginning at 1 p.m. In junior action on Friday, Tyler Wilson scored the lone touchdown as Sir James Dunn defeated White Pines 6-0.
