The Soo Greyhounds made a pair of deals on Wednesday involving a pair of overage players, as the team dealt Sean Stefanski and acquired Colt King. Stefanski, an overage forward, was dealt to the Sudbury Wolves in exchange for a fourth round draft pick in the 2004 Ontario Hockey League draft, a pick that the Wolves acquired from the Brampton Battalion yesterday. The Greyhounds then sent a fourth round draft pick to the Oshawa Generals in return for rugged overage forward Colt King. The Greyhounds acquired the draft pick in a trade with the Erie Otters last season. King, who previously played with the Guelph Storm and North Bay Centennials, scored 19 goals and 22 assists to go with 149 penalty minutes last season with the Generals. King's best season came with the Storm in 2000-01 when he scored 25 goals and 52 points. The left winger, who stands at six-foot-two and 225 pounds, was originally a first round draft pick of the Storm in 1999. Undrafted, King attended the Minnesota Wild's NHL training camp last month. In Stefanski, the Hounds lose a two-way winger whose hustle and grit should fit in well with Sudbury head coach Mike Foligno's hard working style. On Tuesday, the Wolves sent disgruntled 17 year-old centre Howie Martin to Brampton. King will make his Greyhound debut on Friday as the team hosts the Saginaw Spirit at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Gardens. On Sunday, the Hounds host the Kitchener Rangers at 2 p.m. In the lone OHL contest on Wednesday night, the Kingston Frontenacs edged the Belleville Bulls 4-3 as Danny McDonald scored twice for the winners.
