Hounds urge locals to ‘paint the town red’ for playoffs

With the 2024 Ontario Hockey League playoffs just over three weeks away, the Greyhounds are urging Saultites to "Paint the Town Red."

Residents, business owners and students can decorate their homes, businesses and classrooms to show their support for the Hounds.

“Signs, banners, paint, posters, balloons, colour-schemes, simply use your creativity to create an attractive and compelling submission,” the team said in a news release.

The best three displays in each category (residential, commercial and educational) as chosen by the Soo Greyhounds will win a prize.

Contest participants need to register using an online form on soogreyhounds.com, then send supporting photos/videos by clicking here.  

Fan flags featuring the team’s #FearTheNorth slogan must be included in the display. They can be downloaded in 8.5”x11” or 11”x17”, or picked up at the GFL Memorial Gardens Box Office starting Friday.
