Tyler Kennedy was honoured as the Ontario Hockey League's player of the week on Tuesday for his efforts in the Soo Greyhounds weekend sweep on the road.
Kennedy, a Sault product, scored twice and added five assists for seven points during the Greyhounds road wins in Sarnia, Plymouth and Windsor on the Thanksgiving weekend.
In a 4-1 win over Plymouth on Saturday, Kennedy scored a goal and added three assists and was named the game's first star. Kennedy recorded a goal and two assists in a 5-2 win in Windsor on Monday afternoon.
The Greyhounds return to action tonight at Memorial Gardens against the Sudbury Wolves beginning at 7 p.m.
*** TATICEK SIGNS: The Soo Greyhounds don't have the Petr Taticek situation to worry about any longer as the former Hound signed a contract with the National Hockey League's Florida Panthers on Tuesday.
A native of the Czech Republic, Taticek was selected in the first round and ninth overall by Florida in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Taticek is currently with the Panther's American Hockey League affiliate in San Antonio.
If Taticek hadn't reached an agreement on a contract with the Panthers, he would have been returned to the Greyhounds as an overage.

In another move on Tuesday, the Majors sent Kevin Klein and a conditional 15th round draft pick in 2005 to the Guelph Storm in exchange for Tyler Haskins and Collin Power.
On Monday, the Ottawa 67's sent Adam Smyth to Owen Sound for a second pick in 2006 and Belleville's fifth round selection in 2004.
