The White Pines Wolverines completed a perfect week in senior girls high school basketball on Thursday with a spine-tingling 34-32 win over the Korah Colts.
White Pines is now 2-2 after losing its first two games of the season. Amanda Evans led the Wolverines with 15 points and Katie Healey added nine. Shannon Clement led Korah, now 0-3, with 12 points.
Meanwhile, the St. Mary's Knights moved into a first place tie with the idle St. Basil Saints, both with 3-0 records, with a 51-34 win over the 1-3 Mount St. Joseph Royals.
And the Sir James Dunn Eagles moved into a tie with White Pines in improving to 2-2 with a 51-36 win over the Bawating Braves, now 1-2.
FOOTBALL: In senior division play from Thursday, St. Mary's improved to 4-0 with a 15-14 win over Sir James Dunn, now 2-2.
