Michael Nicoletta has made quite a name for himself in football locally.

The youngster put up big numbers this season with the Ontario Football Conference’s Sault Sabercats junior varsity team, which included a five-touchdown game on July 20.

SooToday recently caught up with Nicoletta for our latest Q&A session.

Q: What’s your first sports memory?

MN: Probably on the way to my first football practice and not wanting to go in the car and my dad yelling at me. I about nine or 10.

Q: What other sports are you interested in that people wouldn’t expect?

MN: Baseball. I used to play baseball.

Q: Who are three people, dead or alive, that you would like to have dinner with and why?

MN: Probably Kobe Bryant, Donald Trump and Kanye West.

Q: Aside from your current job, what non-sports career are you interested in and why?

MN: Probably teaching because I like kids and my mom is a teacher.

Q: What person, living or dead, do you admire most and why?

MN: Probably my mom.

She’s one of the hardest working people I know.

Q: If you could be NFL commissioner for a day, what changes would you make to the sport?

MN: I would take away the targeting calls.

Q: What’s the most important life lesson you’ve learned?

MN: To quote (Korah football coach) Tom Annett, ‘No pressure, no diamonds.’

Q: What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?

MN: I’m pretty good at ping pong.

Q: If you could have any super power, what would it be?

MN: Probably time travelling.

Q: If you were stranded on an island, what three things would you bring with you?

MN: A solar-powered radio.

A pet dog to keep me company and a football to keep myself busy.
