Wendy and Cathy, Sending my heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I remember your mother well. What a lovingly humourous memory of your mother being short (like my mom) and the possibility of loosing her amidst the racks of clothing. May your memories bring you comfort. Liz Horbatuk

It's 72 million...but I totally agree with you. "He says Ontario already has "the toughest inspection and enforcement program in Canada," and the new investigations team will help ensure residents have the best quality of care." This "toughest" inspection is nothing if they don't address the root problem which is to increase the number of staff assigned to one resident. In Child Care centres, there is a strict regulation set by the ministry with respect to the ratio of children to one staff which is set for each age group/needs. If you mess this up, there are serious consequences for the centre and staff! Inspections are done yearly; no if ands or buts, and if the centre fails inspection the inspector returns to ensure the problem has been corrected. I also agree there needs to be increased pay for PSW's for the reasons you mention above. The same problem is happening in the Child Care field as these professional are leaving the field in droves.
