Well the city loves to follow the model of all the other Northern Ontario municipalities when it comes to tax increases and transit fare increases etc. why would they not follow the same and help these businesses relocate like other Northern Ontario communities do?

That is such an illusion it isnt even funny. The only thing the industrial carbon tax is going to do is close up what we have left of industry. These companies are already on the fence about operating here due to the regulations and costs associated with being here, they will just close shop and move to USA or a middle east country. Take Algoma Steel for example, if it closes the doors tomorrow, there will just be another mill opened in India or China or they will double the output at the current mills that do not have to conform to any sort of environmental regulation. You are walking a dangerous line asking for this.
This will be “Go Woke, Go Broke” to the tenth exponent. If you think life is hard now, buckle up.

Everyone can agree we need to expand programs. But the truth is, the money just isnt there. Everyone is struggling to make ends meet as it is. To expand programs now would require one of two things, 1; enact now and raise taxes further decimating the folks that cant survive now, 2; print money to fund these programs and then inflation and all consumer products will increase putting us even further behind. These actions will marginalize the very people you want to help.
What we need to do, is grow our economy and make it a world class trading partner. We have world class forestry, oil and gas, farming and fishing abilities. Its time to supercharge these industries, this will lead to better jobs, more money for the citizens, and more money for the government to start giving us better services.

I think it is long overdue for the city to stop with their “single egg basket” approach. It is the same for industry, infrastructure and all other facets of how they run. Great Northern Rd is the new “downtown”. The Bay St, Queen St corridor is a dead cesspool that a fair portion of our citizens avoid like the plague. Stop investing so much into a dead portion of the city while repeatedly neglecting the rest of the city!

It doesnt cost taxpayers a dime. The liberal party pays for. The funds come from donations to the liberal campaign.
