City Police Beat

On October 24th City Police officers attended to a centrally located residence regarding a domestic disturbance.

At 7:50 p.m. on October 22, 2015, city police arrested a 40-year-old female for a domestic related breach of recognizance.

On October 21, 2015 a 28-year-old female was arrested on an outstanding warrant by the Batchewana Police Service. The female was then turned over to city police and the warrant was executed.

On October 21, 2015 at 9:05 am Patrol Officers arrested and charged Patrick Service, age 41, and Krista Merola, age 32, both of Green Lane, Thessalon for Robbery and Break and Enter.

On the 19th of October a homeowner reported a theft of a Honda dirt bike. Sometime between October 18 at 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. on October 19, a shed in the 600 block of Albert Street West was broken into and the dirt bike was stolen.

On the morning of October 18, 2015 members of Investigation Services and patrol officers arrested and charged 45-year-old Michael Yaroshuk of Wellington St. E for robbery and breach of probation.

Gary Frank Marini has been charged with fraud under $5,000 and assault after it is suspected he switched the price tags for children’s boots from a higher price to a lower priced tag, and then paid the lower price at the checkout.

On October 15, 2015 at 8:25 p.m. patrol officers arrested and charged James Guertin, age 46 of Grace Street, with assault. assault with a weapon, threaten death or bodily harm and breach of a recognizance to keep the peace.

On October 15, 2015 at 10:45 a.m., City Police arrested and charged Mark Vasey, 30 years, of Grove Crescent with Breach of Recognizance. It is alleged that Mr.

Officers from Investigation Services have completed their investigation into this matter. It has been determined that there was no criminal intent and no charges will be laid in this matter. As a result, no further details will be released.
