City Police Beat

On June 26, 2014 at approximately 5:10 a.m. officers attended at the Mac’s Mart on Wellington Street West in response to a male attempting to steal cigarettes. Police attended and apprehended the accused a short distance from the store.

Afternoon news Officers from Patrol Services are working on a number of break and enters that occurred overnight.

Afternoon news City Police responded to two calls today regarding nuisance bears on East Balfour St. and the 800 block of Great Northern Rd.

Afternoon news An 18 year old male was arrested by City Police officers today and charged with domestic related assault and mischief.

There were thefts reported from vehicles on Parkinworth Place. Items reported stolen included iPods and change. There was a report of an attempt to steal a stereo system from a vehicle on Boydell Place.

On June 20, 2014 two accused young persons escaped from a local detention centre. Both accused were located by police in the west end of the city and charged with escape lawful custody and breach of probation.

On the 20th of June, 2014 at 3:50 a.m., city police attended in the area of Tilley Road for a mischief complaint. Upon arrival to the area, police observed a vehicle being operated in an erratic fashion.

On June 19 at 8:12 a.m. patrol officers arrested and charged Jeffrey Leclair, age 21, of no fixed address, on the strength of several warrants. He was wanted for breach of probation order, failing to attend court and breach of recognizance.

On June 17, 2014, city police located a wanted male in a residence in the 100 block of Wellington St West. He was found hiding in a closet. The man knew he was wanted.

On June 17, 2014 city poice responded to domestic related incident in the west end of the city.
