On July 27, 2014 a break in occurred in the 100 block of Fourth Line West. The accused entered the residence and was confronted by the owner. A struggle ensued and the accused broke free and fled the residence.

On July 20, 2014 police located an 18-year-old male that was wanted on warrants for failing to appear court x2 on an obstruct police charge and possession of a controlled substance charge. The accused was arrested on the warrant.

Investigators with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services have charged 46-year-old Ronald Charles Freeman of James Street with second degree murder in relation to the stabbing death of a 46-year-old male by the name of Patrice Gregoire.
