City Police Beat

Arrests/Charged Persons: On August 24 2012 City Police along with the local SPCA executed a search warrant at 534 Case Rd. Several animals were found in various states of pain, distress and suffering as a result of improper care.

Arrests: Stephen Andrew Duke, 29, of 1021 Bray Circle, Newmarket accosted a man in a north end parking lot and was charged with mischief, threatening obstruct justice and two counts of breach of probation.

Arrests On the 23 August 2012 at 2:30 AM police were called to a local convenience store where it was reported three males had stolen various food items. They were located a short distance from the store where they were arrested.

A 36 year old male will appear in bail court this morning in regards to an assault as a result of a domestic violence investigation.

Several reports were received regarding mischief in the city's east end overnight. Vehicles, a school, a driveway and a residences were spraypainted in the area of Cambridge Place, Chartwell Drive, Eastside Park and Broad St.

Arrest On the 20 th August 2012 police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the 100 block of London St. On arrival they found a male who had just returned home in an intoxicated state and got into an argument with his common law partner.
